Lent Devotional Conversations
Join us in the Library on Sundays, March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 10 AM.
In collaboration with the Board of Christian Social Action, the Board of Spiritual
Growth will be facilitating an opportunity for those following the devotional to
gather for further conversation. You’re invited to share your thoughts and hear
how the devotional is inspiring friends on the Lenten path.
Go with your love to the fields.
Lie down in the shade. Rest your head
in her lap. Swear allegiance
to what is nighest your thoughts.
As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn’t go. Be like the fox
who makes more tracks than necessary,
some in the wrong direction.
Practice resurrection.

Standing with Our Neighbors on Palm Sunday
Join us on Palm Sunday, March 29 from 2-4 PM
Churches across Iowa will be joining together for a coordinated act of public witness
on Palm Sunday. Here in Des Moines, Plymouth is invited to join with many other
congregations for a festive march from Capitol Hill Lutheran Church to the State
Capitol. After arriving at the Capitol, there will be a time of music, prayer, and a
call to stand in solidarity with our neighbors who are being harmed by ICE. We
will follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who entered Jerusalem to confront systems of
injustice and violence in the name of God's love and peace.
• 2 PM: Begin gathering at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church
• 2:30 PM: March to the State Capitol
• 3-4 PM: Service of Public Witness at the State Capitol
