Preserve Our Organ
Help us protect our historic organ so that we may
continue to grow our vibrant music and arts programs!
Plymouth has the largest church organ in Iowa!
From weekly worship and special services to our annual Halloween
concert, the organ serves as the principal sound of Plymouth and a weekly
reminder of our enduring appreciation for music and arts.
The organ is due for a complete 50-year maintenance cycle. In addition
to critical maintenance, significant work is also needed in the organ
chambers to address broken and degrading materials.
For example, pipes are collapsing and have been pulled out, making them
unusable. Also, the leather pitches, which control every single pipe in the
organ, are deteriorating and need to be replaced.
In addition to this critical maintenance, work is needed in the organ
chamber to address acoustic materials and update organ technology to
ensure the instrument’s long-term life and effectiveness.
Update the Waveland
Kitchen
Create a kitchen that will meet the needs of our church
community!
Our kitchen in Waveland Hall currently operates as a cold-prep area
for outside food.
The stove had to be removed as a safety precaution, and we do not have
a functional dishwasher.
The lack of a fully functional kitchen continues to limit efforts in hospitality
and community for those of all ages.
