Reflection Questions:
1. How does it feel to think of Plymouth as a congregation “entrusted” with God’s resources?
2. What resources, tangible or intangible, has Plymouth been given in abundance?
3. How might fear hold us back from using our gifts boldly?
4. In your own life, what has God entrusted to you — and how have you used it?
5. What risks might we need to take as a congregation to be faithful stewards?
6. How does stewardship call us to invest in God’s mission rather than simply maintaining the status quo?
This Moment Prayer:
Creator God: May this moment begin by acknowledging you as the source of all things good, true, and
beautiful.
In your abundance, we have been entrusted with many gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Teach us to be
faithful stewards of your gifts, using them wisely. Inspire us to plan and build for a future where people will
experience your presence and peace generations to come.
Generous God: In this moment of our life together, let us remain mindful of the great need that exists in our
community.
May we be a people focused on loving and caring for our friends, families, and neighbors who long for
livable wages, adequate resources, and housing security. Instill in us a spirit of true generosity, that we
may share our gifts with joy and compassion.
Loving God: Help us to embrace this moment as a time to deepen our understanding of stewardship as a
way of life, shaping our hearts and lives to resemble your love and justice.
During a time when despair rules the day, empower us as a church willing to move forward with courage,
vision, and hope for a world renewed and restored in your grace.
With a spirit of gratitude, we pray – amen.
