Thinking About Becoming a Deacon?
You Might Be a Perfect Fit
By Jim Pierson (he/him)
Looking for a deeper way to connect at
Plymouth? Consider serving as a Deacon.
The Board of Deacons offers a meaningful
opportunity to serve with purpose and
support the heart of our worship life.
Deacons are dedicated attendants who
help shape the worship experience
each Sunday. They’re far more than
the familiar black attire you see in the
pews—they are essential partners in
creating a welcoming, organized, and
spiritually grounded environment for
everyone who walks through our doors.
From greeting worshippers to assisting
pastors during services, deacons carry out
a wide range of responsibilities both in
front of the congregation and behind the
scenes. Their steady presence helps ensure
that each service runs smoothly and that
every person feels cared for.
If you’re ready to make a meaningful
impact and serve alongside a committed,
supportive team, the Board of Deacons
would be glad to welcome you.
